Remove the declaration rule at Tirumala, Naidu is scared: Kodali Nani

It's known that, ahead of Jaganmohan Reddy's visit to Tirumala on September 23, the TDP has demanded that the Chief Minister should sign the declaration form meant for non-Hindus, something that has been a practice at the world-famous temple. YCP leader and Minister Kodali Nani has, however, found fault with the tradition.

"Why do they need non-Hindus to make a declaration to visit Tirumala? Why is this rule there only at Tirumala? What is the origin of the tradition? Why did they do it? The tradition should be debated. If people of other religions enter Tirumala, will it affect the sanctity of the place?" the Minister asked.

"If non-Hindus visit the temple out of faith towards Venkateswara Swamy, will the temple lose its purity? Wil the temple remain pure if only Hindus have no compulsion to make a declaration? What is the use of these rules?" Nani further asked.

Nani, speaking to a TV channel, said that Sonia Gandhi and YS Rajasekhar Reddy had not given such a declaration in the past. "TTD or other Hindu organizations are not seeking a declaration from Jaganmohan Reddy garu. Chandrababu Naidu is the only 'gunta nakka' who is doing it. If the need be, the rule itself should be changed. This is a pathetic rule," Nani thundered. "It should not be the preserve of the TTD to decide on the rule. There should be a debate. Why should we object when God has no such objection," he added.

Getting political, Nani said that CBN is scared that his party will lose the Hindu vote bank. "BJP has joined hands with Pawan Kalyan garu to finish the TDP. Chandrababu Naidu fears that Hindus will cosy up to the BJP. He is extremely tensed. He must be the one who is behind the assaults on Hindu symbols of late," Nani alleged.
