Kollywood star Suriya's much-anticipated film Retro, directed by Karthik Subbaraj, is set to hit theaters on May 1. While the film has been generating strong buzz in Tamil Nadu, excitement for the Telugu version remains low. The unique and unconventional theatrical trailer didn’t create the expected spark among Telugu audiences, resulting in a lukewarm response so far.

To boost the film’s visibility and interest in the Telugu states, the team is ramping up promotions. Naga Vamsi is distributing the film in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. In a strategic move, the filmmakers have roped in Vijay Deverakonda as the chief guest for the movie's pre-release event, scheduled for April 26 in Hyderabad. This choice aligns well, as Vijay is currently working on another project titled Kingdom under the same production house, Sithara Entertainments.

Retro has completed its censor process and received a U/A certificate. The film runs for 168 minutes (2 hours and 48 minutes). Actress Pooja Hegde plays the female lead. The movie has been produced by Jyotika and Suriya through their production house 2D Entertainment. Noted composer Santhosh Narayanan has provided the music for this retro-styled action drama.
