RGV, Puri to remake Businessman in Hindi

  • IndiaGlitz, [Wednesday,March 14 2012]

As expected, Ram Gopal Varma is joining hands with Puri Jagannadh to remake Businessman in Hindi. The film will star Abhishek Bacchan in that omniscient role of the Napolean of Indian Mafia, played to perfection (to quote RGV) by Mahesh Babu. Announcing the news on Twitter, Varma said, Finally its confirmed..Me and puri jagan together are making the remake of the block buster telugu hit 'Businessman' with Abhishek bachchan.

The film may not go on the floors this year, since both RGV and Puri have their schedules choc-a-bloc with many movies. In fact, it was said that the guru-sishya duo were ambivalent about launching the movie in Hindi till recently.

With Junior B having given the final nod, it has come as a shot in the arm for the producer-director duo. RGV's nascent idea was translated into a feature film by Puri.

The film worked wonders at the BO owing to some factors (prominently, Mahesh's image and the dialogues). It will be interesting to see whether the Hindi audience will accept the glorification of a mafia don in a mainly illogical script.
