A report published by a national daily says that Rishab Pant failed to make it to the ICC World Cup-2019 team of India because of just one person in the selectors' team of the BCCI. "Everyone felt that he should be in. Just one individual felt otherwise," the report says. Nobody can know the name of this individual who turned out to be Pant's enemy.

Experts feel that the 21-year-old Pant is far more qualified than Dinesh Karthik, Vijay Shankar, and KL Rahul. He is also a Grade 'A' contracted player, as per the BCCI.

"Who is the selector that opposed Rishab Pant? This individual has to be named and the decision needs to be questioned. The BCCI has a lot to answer. Dinesh Karthik has had enough chances and he has repeatedly failed in converting it into an advantage. The selection process needs to be transparent," says Siddharth Sood, a Twitter user.

Transparency in the selection process is much-desired.
