Risk promotion heats up at just the right time

This is one shift-ahead that has only worked in advantage for a film.

Randeep Hooda's 'Risk' was originally slated to arrive in December but was eventually postponed to December 12th. While the film still faces a challenge from the mighty 'Guru' that comes on the same day, what has still worked to a good extent for it is an extensive promotional drive that has helped it gain further visibility.

Makers of the film have done well in using the star power of Vinod Khanna and the rugged appeal of this Vishram Sawant film to its advantage. Result is that the film's promos have started catching up heat and those who have lived on films like 'Satya', 'Company' and other underworld films are now keenly awaiting the release of 'Risk'.

Another factor that has contributed in a major way to the film catching eyeballs is Tanushree's hit number 'Hitchkee' that has picked up amazingly well amongst the masses, especially the gentry.

With the film's target audience belonging to single screens regulars, 'Risk' may just turn out to be a small success at the beginning of the year.

Bhatts have been known to market their films aggressively, especially when newcomers are at the helm of direction. While directors like Anurag Basu and Mohit Suri have gained from the smart strategy adopted by Bhatts in placing their films in the market, it was quite a surprise to see a low key release of 'The Killer'.

“Priyanka Chopra is my medicine”

I first heard from Waheed a couple of months ago. It was a frail voice clear on the long distance call from UK. He had a story to tell. And maybe less time. For I could notice he was breathing heavily. Later I came to know that he is on a ventilator.
