Actor RJ Balaji is known for his bold views on social issues and active participation in movements for social causes. He was one of the celebrities who actively supported the mass uprising of youngsters to lift the ban on Jallikattu. His efforts along with actor Siddharth to rescue and rehabilitate the victims of Chennai Deluge in December 2015 achieved him the status of a Inspirational young celebrity.

However in recent times Balaji's comments have been invoking strong criticisms too.. His views hailing the Demonetisation move implemented by the Indian Prime Minister, made him an object of criticism and troll in social media. Even during the Jallikattu protests his speeches went against those protesting even after the ban on the Traditional sport was lifted and that invoked some criticisms.

Now the 'Naanum Rowdy Dhaan' actor has incurred the wrath of Tamil people in Twitter for his tweet criticising the standard of education in Tamil Nadu State Board schools which follow the Samacheer Kalvi syllabus.

Balaji's tweet says that the student who has studied under the Samacheer syllabus are so weak in English that ta Central Board Student and International Board student speaking in English conversing in simple English will look to them as foreigners.

Many users in the Twitter have criticised and trolled the actor for his comments as they see it as "degrading Samacheer students".

In his follow up tweet Balaji reiterated that the standard of education in Tamil Nadu should be raised on par with rest of India.

Though we respect the Freedom of Expression of Balaji, it is anybody's guess that on what basis did the RJ turned actor concluded that the education in Tamil Nadu is below par when compared to the rest of India?
