A remake of Tamil film ‘Pandia Nadu’ (2013) is good in parts but it is villain Ravishanker and father role Dr Girish Karnad shine in terrific performance.

Why the hero is given underdog role? That is not the issue of the film maker but the duty of actor like Chiranjeevi Sarja to think seriously. In the presence of top villain who screams and attracts, the hero role goes very weak. From Prajwal Devaraj to Chiranjeevi Sarja the same mistake is continued. Heroism for heroes is missing with Ravishanker around as rabble rouser. Director Guru Deshpande has managed to hold attention at places. The situations abruptly ending to another is not precise task.

The shock of the father is when he finds in the police station that he has to sign on dotted lines that is written ‘you son is dead for drunken driving’.  My son does not have the habit of drinking, I am very sure argues the father. The villain chela sign on his behalf and body is sent home.

In fact this is the actual beginning of the cinema. The father notices something fishy and he hires Armugam from adjacent state to kill the Kolar don Narasimha Reddy (Ravishanker). By this time Narasimha Reddy has ruled his regime and he is untouchable and unshakable.

Knowing the death of his brother is murder by Narasimha Reddy, younger brother Shivaraj (Chiranjeevi Sarja) finds his own planning to kill Narasimha Reddy. Whether father or younger son succeeds in this biggest task of eradicating Narasimha Reddy is final portion of the film.

Ravishanker attracts more than anyone else in the film. Next is Girish Karnad for his cool and composed performance. Chiranjeevi Sarja shines only at the climax with action portion. He is a good actor but good roles are not coming to him.

Ravishing looks of Radhika Kumaraswamy is worth watching and adds in the glam department for the film. Kumar Govind is apt, it is double meaning dialogues in comedy of Chikkanna. Madarangi Krishna in a guest role has heroic role. His height and looks are advantage to the film. Sruthi Raj is tearful best.

V Harikrishna two musical scores are on top. The opening song on lord Shiva and Try Try Trying….duet are passable. Cinematographer Jagadish Wali has captured every development of the film with brilliance. He is of course a ‘Wall’ of Kannada cinematography.

The connectivity is not found in editing. Action portions are well composed.

Score – 5/10
