Run away producers

The biggest menace that Mollywood is facing right now is from the so called producers, who attempt cinema making without any real capital to fund the projects. Expecting a space and acquaintances in the glamour world, many business man including NRI's jump into filmmaking but fails to see their projects getting completed, due to lack of planning and funds. At least sixty movies are waiting in cans, in the various stages of productions, due to producers who abandoned the projects mid way and ran away from the industry.

The latest crew to face the ruthlessness of such a production is the superstar Mohanlal’s ‘Casanovva’. The movie which was expected to be on shooting sets by this time was called off, due to reluctance from the producer side to spend the approved budget on time. As per the reports, the producer has asked the crew, just before 14 days from the scheduled dates, to post pone the shoot to another six months. This six crore movie scripted by Bobby Sanjay and to be directed by talented hit maker Rosshan Andrews was originally scheduled to shoot most of its parts at Vienna.

Superstar Mohanlal had earmarked 80 days for this movie while stars like Arya and Priyanka even cancelled some other important projects from the south, to be in the movie. All associated crew who had been working on its preproduction for quite some time, including the director and scriptwriters, are baffled with the untimely suspension of the shoot of such a big project. If this is the case of a project with Mohanlal, you can just figure out how worse can be the situation of other smaller films.

Anyhow Roshan and Crew has already started working for their next project with Mohanlal in the lead. Scripted by James Albert, the movie is expected to go on sets by the second week of July. This time, Roshan has made it safe, by signing in for a banner and producer who very well know the art of film production. Yes, this new movie will be produced by Antony Perumbavoor in the banner of Aashirwad cinemas.
