Vijay's 2005 romantic comedy Sachein is all set to return to cinemas with a special re-release on April 18, 2025, in honor of its 20th anniversary. Advance ticket booking has officially opened, allowing fans to experience the film on the big screen once again.

Originally released on April 14, 2005, Sachein was produced under the V Creations banner by Kalaipuli S. Thanu and was directed by John Mahendran. The film, set in a vibrant college campus in Ooty, revolves around a carefree young man who falls in love with a confident female classmate. Their evolving relationship—filled with ego clashes, friendship, and misunderstandings-forms the heart of the story.

Vijay stars in the title role, alongside Genelia D’Souza as Shalini and Bollywood actress Bipasha Basu in her Tamil film debut. Comedians Vadivelu and Santhanam add humor, while Raghuvaran appears as Sachein’s father, contributing emotional depth.

The film’s music, composed by Devi Sri Prasad, was a big hit, with songs like "Vaadi Vaadi" and "Gundu Gundu" remaining fan favorites. Cinematographer Jeeva handled the visuals, and editing was done by V. T. Vijayan.

Scheduled during the summer break, the re-release allows longtime fans and new viewers alike to witness Vijay's early performance and the nostalgic chemistry of campus romance.

Make sure to grab your tickets for this memorable cinematic experience.
