Sai Pallavi on Padi Padi Leche Manasu, being normal & more

This Friday, Sai Pallavi had a release at the box office. In this interview, she talks about the film, what she looks for when she accepts roles, what matters the most to her and more.

I follow my heart

I do my job well and leave the result to God. I am happy with what I have got. The audience judges a movie in 3 hours. As far as actors are concerned, it's 1 year's effort. I have done 'PPLM' because I followed my heart.

No domination

Some characters are expressive in emoting love. I and Sharwanand got into the skin of our characters. I loved the character and my performance must have reflected that. It's not like I dominated Sharwa's character. It's a love story and it's about both the lovers. Love is a common feature in most movies. Only the form changes. The interval episode was shot against the backdrop of a green mat. So, it was a different experience to imagine an earthquake in the studio.

Sharwanand is so friendly

Sharwa has been in the industry for 15 years. Despite that, he doesn't show airs. He never made me feel that I am a fresher relatively. After all these months of working together, we are like friends. He gives me feedback openly. We are sans ego. I would suggest improvisations to him and he would give me suggestions. I was self-critical in playing the medico's role.

Hanu Raghavapudi is thorough

Hanu is a very hard working professional. His thought is always about movies. He is very focused and passionate.

Roles matter to me

I prefer doing memorable roles. Twenty years down the line, I should be proud of what I have done. My parents too should feel proud that I have chosen the right career after leaving the medical profession. I am always conscious of making the right moves, and I need to be responsible because of the love that I get. I should be like Fidaa's Bhanumathi, a rare piece. I am not in a hurry to do more and more movies. When I am someone else in front of the camera, I should feel happy.

Those who watch a movie don't know how much effort goes into its making. We always have to try for perfection, whatever it takes. Extra dates might have to be allotted at times.

Variety is valuable

My role in 'MCA' was not complicated. My role in 'Fidaa' was louder than what I am in real life. It was a new experience to play that role and it changed me a lot. As an artist, I seek variety. Wouldn't we feel bored if Mom and Dad give us the same food every day? I want to be natural on the screen. Coming to 'PPLM', I used to keep asking my director about how I am doing it as it's totally new to me.

Love in school days

Movies are my love. I remember my school-time love. While doing medicine, books were my love. While in school, I would be conscious when guys looked at me. I was conscious of my pimples.

Parents are the best

My parents matter to me the most. I will marry one day to make them happy. My sister has her own interests. Till 'Premam', my mother would say that I am in a movie just as I am in real life. Not any more.

Not conscious about any stardom

I don't talk much normally. I am talking this much today only because I am scared. Stardom and such terms are big words. I am just doing my work. I do my job in front of the camera. Nobody treats me as a heroine among my relatives and friends. Things like stardom are not at all there in my head. My parents are happy with what I am doing and earning.

Upcoming movies

I am doing a film in Malayalam. About my other projects that have been reported on, the makers will announce it when they happen. In Tamil, I am doing 'NGK' opposite Suriya garu.
