'Mahanati' is not the only unconventional film Samantha Akkineni is currently doing. 'Super Deluxe' in Tamil seems to be even more 'hatke'.
She is playing a character named Vembu (meaning neem) in this anthology film that also stars Vijay Sethupathy, among others. And in the teaser of her character released, the 'Rangasthalam' actress is seen killing off a man with a butcher knife.
Directed by Thiagarrajan Kumaraja of 'Aaranya Kaandam' fame, the film also stars Fahadh Fazil, Mysskin, Nathiya and Ramya Krishnan. The character look of Vijay Sethupathy (to be seen in Chiranjeevi's 'Sye Raa' in a key role), who plays a transgender Shilpa that released a few months back created a sensation.
It has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja and the screenplay is by Nalan Kumaraswamy.
