Samantha braces up to play a journo

It's known that Samantha is set to act in the Telugu-Tamil remake of the Kannada mystery thriller U-Turn. Written, produced and directed by Pawan Kumar, the film was released on May 20 to positive reviews.
This female-centric film has Shraddha Srinath playing the lead. The Telugu-Tamil versions will see Samantha reprising this role, a journo with an English-language daily probing into a murder mystery.
Directed by Pawan Kumar of Lucia fame, the film was made on a shoe-string budget mopped up through crowd-funding.
After playing a range of bubbly roles, we are going to see Samantha in a substantial role, a journo's role at that. Let's hope that after this film, the A Aa actress will be on an experimental spree like Trisha and Tamannah.
