Director and actor Samuthirakani had made an appearance in movies like Pettikadai and Peranbu directed by Ram this year, and was seen as the main lead lastly in Aan Devathai released last year. Now one of the long delayed movies where he had played the lead role is ready to release.

In 2015, director Naveen, who had produced and directed the critically acclaimed movie Moodar Koodam had launched his second production venture Kolanji, which was to be directed by his assistant Dhanaram Saravanan and the movie which had been completed long back was getting delayed.

Kolanji's motion poster and teaser were released by PC Sriram and Simbu respectively and now it has been announced that Kolanji is all set to release worldwide on July 19. The movie also stars Sangavi, Rajaji, Naina Sarwar, and has music by Natarajan Sankaran who had composed music for Moodar Koodam as well.
