Santhanam stars in the upcoming film “Devil’s Double: Next Level”, directed by Prem Anand. The cast includes Geethika Tiwari, Selvaraghavan, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Nizhalgal Ravi, Rajendran, Kasthuri, Redin Kingsley, and Yashika Anand. The film is produced by Niharika Entertainment and presented by actor Arya on behalf of The Show People. It is set to release on June 16.
At a recent press meet, Santhanam shared, “Arya and I are always in touch. One day, Arya asked me why I seemed less fun now compared to when I was a comedian. I explained the challenges I faced as a lead actor. Arya then encouraged me to fully work on ‘Devil’s Double: Next Level’, assuring me he’d support me through my struggles.”
Santhanam added, “This film has a strong story, screenplay, comedy, and performance. I would call director Prem Anand the Christopher Nolan of Tamil cinema, as his stories have many layers. He has directed this film equally wonderfully.”
Regarding the controversy over a song that allegedly mocked Lord Perumal, Santhanam clarified, “I am a devotee of Perumal. Including the song was purely from my desire to feature a devotional element. There’s no intention of mockery. I believe in God and have a special liking for Perumal.”
He also mentioned his willingness to campaign during the upcoming elections, stating, “If my friend Udhayanidhi asks and things align, I will campaign for him. I’m also appearing as a comedian in Simbu’s film because of our friendship.”
