Actor and BJP supporter Sarathkumar has strongly condemned Vijay’s remarks against the central government during the Tamil Nadu Victory Party’s (TVK) recent general meeting.
In his statement, Sarathkumar criticized Vijay for making what he called "false allegations" about the government’s economic policies. He highlighted that India's economy is growing rapidly and has been recognized by the International Monetary Fund (IMF), with predictions of it soon becoming the third-largest economy.
Sarathkumar questioned Vijay’s claims regarding the central government’s funding for Tamil Nadu, stating that tax allocations and financial aid have significantly increased over the years. He cited figures showing that Tamil Nadu received ₹94,971 crore in tax revenue between 2004-14, while the amount increased to ₹2,92,013 crore between 2014-24—a rise of 207%. Similarly, central government assistance and subsidies grew by 342% in the same period.
He further condemned Vijay for ridiculing Prime Minister Narendra Modi, whom he described as a globally admired leader. Sarathkumar emphasized that public figures should verify facts before making statements on such critical matters.
