Actor Sasikumar recently shared his thoughts at the success meet of the movie Tourist Family, directed by Abishek Jeevanth and starring Sasikumar, Simran, Ramesh Thilak, and Yogi Babu. The film was well-received, and the team met with the press to express their gratitude.
Sasikumar stated that producers should be transparent with actors regarding film performance and earnings. He emphasized that success should not lead to sudden increase in actor fees. "Tourist Family was made on a specific budget, and only with such planning can we achieve success," he explained. The movie, according to him, gave hope to directors with new ideas and proved that films of different genres can succeed.
He added that he doesn’t see this as a personal victory. “Don’t think Sasikumar made a million dollars,” he said. “This is a victory for the new generation. It has restored hope for many struggling filmmakers.”
Sasikumar encouraged transparency by suggesting producers openly communicate box office results to actors. “Only then will actors avoid raising their salaries unrealistically,” he mentioned. He also shared his happiness that Tourist Family surpassed his previous hits like Sundarapandian and Kutti Puli in terms of earnings.
He concluded by saying, “If the content is good, families will come to theatres. This film shows that people are ready to support quality cinema.”
