Sathya Harischandra – the protagonist Sharan is a bluff master. In the early 60’s Kannada film ‘Sathya Harischandra’ was the story of a king who never utters a lie at any circumstance. He goes for a massive test in his life and wins that ‘Truth’ is important in life.

In this 2017 Sathya Harischandra in the direction of Dayal Padmanabhan for noted producer K Manju Cinema the fate of the hero when he utters the truth is the focus. Of course it is for fun and entertainment. Yet there is sarcastic approach in the end by the director.  The 1960’s song of ‘Sathya Harichandra’ film of Dr Rajakumar and Pandari Bai – Kuladalli Keelyavudo ….is retuned with the same lyrics by music director Arjun Janya.

The combination of Sharan and Chikkanna that paid rich dividends in ‘Adhyaksha’ continued in ‘Raj Vishnu’, it is now again in ‘Sathya Harischandra’ – director Dayal Padmanabhan has coined the caption as ‘Based on an untrue story’.

This is the 38th production of K Manju. He is looking for this combination to do well. There is Sanchita Padukone, Bhavana Rao, Chikkanna, Seetha, Sharat Lohitashva, Vidyullekha Raman and others are in the cast.

Faizal Ali has done cinematography, Imran Sardaria, Murali dance and Sri of Crazy Minds is editor of this film.
