Scary period ahead for 'Rocky' and 'Ahista Ahista'

One more week to go and 'Rocky-The Rebel' and 'Ahista Ahista' would be the two major releases on August 18th. 'Kathputli' that was originally slated for release tomorrow may also be joining them then. But is the overall situation indeed pleasant for the three flicks? Looks unlikely!

KANK is now very much up there as far as taking historical collections is concerned. Releasing at record prints, the film would be dominating cinema screens all over where Hindi films are show. Media folks who have watched the film are going gaga over its prospects while the cast and crew is jubilant as well after the preview shows. This means that the film's euphoria would hardly settle down in a week's time and would continue for a good 2-3 weeks to come!

So what happens to films like 'Rocky', 'Ahista Ahista' and 'Kathputli'? Inspite of a merit or two, it is likely that they would face rough weather in their opening week. With 5 confirmed releases a week after [Aap Ki Khatir, Bas Ek Pal, Shiva, Jaane Hoga Kya and Jaana - Let's Fall In Love] with 'Lage Raho Munnabhai' coming 2 weeks later, August would certainly be one of the busiest ever this month!

DON Defies Gravity

If you ask me I prefer the lean-mean Don over the worth-sympathising Dev Saran of ‘Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna’. The sneak peak at Farhan Akhtar’s ‘Don’ where Shahrukh Khan like the vintage Baazigar says unabashedly “I am the King” and you just feel like saying Why not dude! The colourful shirts, the designer sex appeal and that sinister negativity on the face is simply lovely.
