Seeman’s journey has started. The popular filmmaker, who is also the supremo of Naam Thamizhar Iyakkam, vowed on Thursday to defeat all the 63 candidates of the Congress party in the April 13 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.

Talking to journalists in Chennai, he said that a decision in this regard was taken at the high level committee meeting of his organisaiton. “We will support the AIADMK front. Because we have no other option,” he said.

Claiming that the State government already owed Rs one lakh crore in loans, Seeman wondered what would happen to the finances if further freebies were implemented. The ruling party worried about the people only during the elections and did not bother about their sufferings after the polls, he alleged.

The freebies announced by the DMK in its election manifesto would “defeat the people of Tamil Nadu” and would not help them develop, he said, adding that the Congress and its alliance patners would be defeated in the polls, for acting as mute spectators over the Lankan Tamils issue.
