Selvam

Director Agathiyan, a seasoned director, who won the national award for his movie Kadhal Kottai, has turned into producer besides wielding the megaphone for the movie Selvam.

Known for realistic portrayal of human emotions in his movies, Agathiyan says a movie on human emotions irrespective of the star cast will make it good at the box-office.

The hero of Selvam is Nandha who had a promising debut in Punnagai Poove and he has been paired with heroine Kadal Pookal Uma.

Agathiyan says "after this film, Nandha will emerge as a romantic hero just the way Karthik emerged after Alaigal Oivathillai. Equally impressive is Uma who has given her best on the screen."

"Being a producer cum director, I have more liberty in executing the movie according to my tastes and wish. Selvam will be on the likes of my Gokulathil Seethai and will hopefully go on to make it big at the box-office."

Agathiyan's forte is delving into human psyche and then coming up with something new. He touches extreme raw emotions, yet comes up with clean stuff.

"I always love to give decent films without any vulgarity for the family to enjoy," he says.

Other prominent actors in this film are Ranjitha, Manivannan, Muthukaalai, besides director and music composer Deva enacting a cameo role.

The highlights of Selvam are riveting cinematography by Ramesh and good musical score by Deva, the director says.

The movie would be released very soon and who ever had seen the film so far in the trade circle have appreciated me for taking a bold movie with a strong message, Agathiyan says.
