Sevens
After a long time, senior director Joshiy is coming together with the young brigade of Malayalam cinema. His new movie titled `Sevens,' tells the story of a gang of youngsters in the backdrop of 'Sevens',a kind of football with seven team members instead of traditional 11 and played in smaller grounds. This kind of football popular in Northern Kerala, involves huge money as big names of football comes up as guests players for local clubs.
`Sevens,'will feature Kunchakko Boban, Asif Ali, Nivin Poly, Aju varghese( Both of 'Malarvady Arts Club'), Ameer Niyas( of Puthumughangal), Rejith Menon ( of 'Goal'), Vijeesh(Noolunda) and Vineeth kumar doing the lead roles. In this scripts of Iqbal Kuttipuram, they are Shyam, Sooraj -a hardware engineer, Shoukath, Sharath- a construction superviser, Linto and Arun,the only son of an NRI family, who all come up as seven young men, passionate about football. Each of the members have a sober story to tell, which forces them to behave in a too different manners, always eyeing for money and fame. The movie goes on to tell how they inadvertently get involved in a crime.
The other important character in the movie is that of Nadia Moidhu, who is making a second appearance in her comeback after 'Doubles'. In 'Sevens' she is Amala Vishnunath, the commissioner of police. In fact, the actress is for the first time cast in the police role and her character is the one who comes up to help the youngsters who is currently in deep trouble. The movie planned as a racy entertainer will also have Rima Kallingal, Bhama, Mamukoya, Mithun Ramesh,Manian Pillai Raju, Ajayan karanthoor, Dinesh Panikkar, Murali Mohan and Shivaji in other important roles.
The stories doing the rounds also tells that Superstar Mohanlal will be seen in a cameo in 'Sevens'. Mohanlal will appear in a crucial juncture in this movie.
Lyrics by Rafeeq Ahmed and Santhosh Varma have been tuned by Bijibal. Ajayan Vincent cranks the camera while Ranjan Abraham does the editing.The shooting of 'Sevens' is progressing at Kozhikkod,kannur, Arikkod and Koyilandy.
`Sevens' is produced by Santhosh Pavithram and Sajai Sebastian under the banner of Pavithram Creations and Zion International Film Factory. The movie is expected to grace the theatres by the last week of July.
