More than six decades back eminent filmmaker and actor Raj Kapoor created history in Indian cinema by bringing together the entire Kapoor clan in a single movie!
The movie was AWARA (1951) that brought together Raj Kapoor, his father the legendary actor Prithiviraj Kapoor (famous for his role as King Akbar in Mughul-E-Azam) and his younger brother Shashi Kapoor, who played the younger version of Raj Kapoor. The movie not only created box office records but it took Indian Cinema to dizzy height in International cinema, particularly the movie was huge commercial success in Russia!
After this the success mantra was repeated by many families in Bollywood like the Kumars brothers Viz. Ashok Kumar, Kishore Kumar and Anup Kumar in CHALTI KA NAAM GADI, Dharmendra clan coming together in YAMLA PAGLA DEEWANA, Salman Khan's family in PYAAR KIYA TO DARNA KYA etc.
The latest family to join this list is none other but Badshah Khan a.k.a. Shah Rukh Khan. If rumors are to be believed than it is speculated that Shah Rukh Khan is vying to acquire the remake rights of Hollywood filmmaker Richard Linklater's Oscar Award winning film 'BOYHOOD, as the launching pad for his elder son Aryan Khan!
According to the buzz going around Aryan Khan, who was bowled over by the movie, called papa from London to watch the movie and expressed his desire to make the movie as his debut vehicle.
After watching the movie SRK himself was ecstatic at his son's acumen because BOYHOOD is indeed a sensitive movie and speaks volumes about young Aryan's choice of movie.
Written and directed Richard Linklater BOYHOOD is an emotional tale of a young boy torn between his estranged parents. Buzz has it that BOYHOOD director Linklater has already made a very hush-hush trip to Mumbai to speak to Khan.
According to sources close to SRK, Shah Rukh does not want to take any changes with his son's career hence he wishes to do the project in association with Richard Linklater, who took over 12 years to make the original but when the film was released it won multiple accolades including Best Film Oscar Award!
If things work out Aryan will play the role essayed by actor Ellar Coltrane in the original while Shah Rukh will play his father, the role played by Ethan Hawke in the film. In addition Khan's youngest son AbRam will be seen playing the junior version of his elder brother.
