Makers of Telugu sports drama flick 'Jersey' are quite happy as the film bagged two awards at the 67th National Film Awards. The film won under the category, Best Telugu Film and Navin Nooli won the Best Editor's award. Shahid Kapoor, who will soon appear as the lead in the Hindi remake of the film was quite happy about the success of the film and took to Instagram to express it with little humor. The actor shared a poster of t film and wrote, Huge congratulations to the entire team. Thanks for the extra pressure ??????”

The filming wrapped a couple months ago but the release is still quite a while away. Shahid will play the role of a washed up cricketer in his 30s who decides to get back into the field to be a hero for his son. The actor went through intense training and practice sessions to accurately portray a cricketer. The remake is directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri who also helmed the original.

Here's what he had to say about the National Award win, I'm very thankful that our film 'Jersey' has received the highest honour, by winning the prestigious National Award for Best Film in Telugu. I'm overwhelmed with the love and response the film has received from all, and I'm eagerly looking forward to bringing the Hindi version of 'Jersey' to the national audience this coming Diwali.
