Actress Shalini had started her career as a child artist, and similarly, her younger sister Shamili too started off in films as a child actor. Shamili went on to star in numerous movies including Maniratnam's national award winning movie Anjali.
After appearing as a teen in Ajith starrer Kandukondain Kandukondain directed by Rajiv Menon, Shamili starred as the female lead in Siddharth starrer Telugu movie Oye and in Tamil she paired with Vikram Prabhu in Veera Sivaji.
