'Shamantakamani' has been a nice journey: Nara Rohit

The fecund Nara Rohit awaits the release of 'Shamantakamani' this Friday. In this interview, the actor talks about the whole experience of doing the multi-starrer and what makes it special.
It's not easy to handle a multi-starrer. How has Sriram Aditya, a second-time director done it?
Generally speaking, it's not easy to do a film of this genre. But each character has got its own importance. Four actors teaming up to do a film is no ordinary thing. It felt like a nice journey.
Coming to the director, he has done a great job. We completed the shoot in 37 days because of the clarity he has got. He knows what he wants and ensures that he extracts it.
After 'Rowdy' and 'Appatlo Okadundevadu', you are playing a cop once again. Wasn't it boring?
I too didn't want to play a police officer once again. But when I read the script, I found the characterization quite interesting. There is a jovial aura about Inspector Ranjith. He is not serious type, but a funny cop.
You have shed oodles of weight. What is the reason?
I shed 21 kilos for the sake of my character in Pawan Mallela's movie. The makers have decided to release the First Look on my birthday.
What are your upcoming projects?
'Kathalo Rajakumari' is ready for release. Sudheer Babu and me are going to do 'Veerabhoga Vasantharayalu', which has an entirely different concept. The film is on the lines of Kamal Haasan's 'Eenadu' (remake of 'A Wednesday'). Sudheer is playing a cop, while I will be seen as an intelligence officer. And, of course, Pawan Mallela's movie is readying.
