Director Shankar is synonymous to grandeur in Indian cinema and for the past three decades, he has gone from strength to strength in making big-budget spectacles that have wide appeal in the country and abroad as well. After the worldwide success of the SciFi '2.0' starring Superstar Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar in the lead roles, he started 'Indian 2' starring Kamal Haasan the sequel to the duo's 1996 pan Indian blockbuster hit.

'Indian 2' produced by Lyca Productions ever since it went on floors has been facing a number of woes including an on-set accident that killed three crew members and the coronavirus pandemic that has stopped production for the past eight months.

Since 'Indian 2' involves a huge cast and crew it is said that the resumption of shooting can only proceed after there is permission from the government for more than the currently allowed numbers. We already broke the news to you that Shankar has decided to make a pan Indian multistarrer with a possible star cast of Yash, Vijay Sethupathi, and other actors from the Malayalam and Telugu industries.

Now there is another buzz that a Bollywood producer has approached Shankar to make a quickie big budget film and the ace director is contemplating another story that he wrote some time back.

According to the sources the new Shankar movie could have Dhruv Vikram in the lead role and there is also another parallel hero in the story for which he is looking at an unusual casting. It is said that popular producer Kottapadi Rajesh of KJR Studios is apt for the character and is likely to make his debut in this film if all goes well.

The news regarding Shankar's new movie could not be authenticated and hence we have to take it with a pinch of salt and wait for the official update.
