In 2013, JSK films and GV Prakash Kumar productions had produced and released the movie Madha Yaanai Kootttam, starring Kathir, Oviya, Vela Ramamoorthy, Kalaiyarasan and many others, and the movie had music by Raghunandan. The movie was music director GV Prakash's maiden production venture.

Madha Yaanai Koottam, though was not a commercially successful outing, had earned overwhelming positive reviews and was critically acclaimed. The director of the movie, debutant Vikram Sugumaran had been appreciated for his hard hitting portrayal and making.

While the director had not announced his second project for more than 5 years, and had been penning his next, now it has been revealed that he is all set to begin his second movie. Vikram Sugumaran is all set to join hands with actor Shanthanu, and an official announcement is expected soon.
