A day after the birthday noted singer, music director and humble human being LN Shastry passed away at his residence. It was prolonged lever cancer at the fourth stage bothered this ace singer of thousands of songs and nearly 25 Kannada films as music director. He was music director of Telugu film Prerana`.

LN Shastry leaves behind his wife Suma also a singer and daughter. The end came after treatment given from Allopathy and Ayurveda medicine. The cremation of LN Shastry took place on Thursday morning 31st of August at 10.30 am at TR Mill Crematorium.

A state award playback singer LN Shastry has many top songs to his credit. It was in blockbuster Janumada Jodi of Dr Shivarajakumar and Shilpa starring film Kolumande Jangamadeva….a folk song bagged him the first state award.

An engineering graduate LN Shastri evinced interest in singing and developed his style that gave emotional feel. He has won Kannada Chitra Rasikara award, Arya Bhatta award, Chitra Premigala award, in 1996-97 Karnataka state awards Shastri bagged the award for his unforgettable song. He was just 46 and commenced his career in cinema as track singer in 1991. He has delivered songs for most of the composers after that. He was a music director for quite a few films. The last one was Melody`. For the audio release except Hamsalekha all the music directors attended it. It was a grand day in the life LN Shastri.

His debut music direction was for his friend Nanjunda debut direction Kanasalu Neene Manasalu Neene`. LN Shastri remained as backbone for Nanjunda comeback film Melody` in which his another best friend Rajesh Krishnan appeared on screen with singer and actor Chetan Gandharva. His last music composition is Siganduru Chowdeshwari Mahime`. The work in progress was also for Chandrachud directorial venture and for another album on Lord Raghavendra Swamy.
