She inspired women to take up filmmaking: Pawan Kalyan

Pawan Kalyan has hailed Vijaya Nirmala as a rare acting and directorial talent who has left an indelible mark. The Jana Sena chief especially mentioned the departed soul's stint as a director.

"Through her films such as 'Meena', 'Hema Hemeelu' and 'Ram Robert Rahim', Vijaya Nirmala garu inspired many women to pursue a career in cinema," Pawan said on Thursday.

Even decades after her, no female director has attained the distinction of directing more than 45 films, a distinction that has ensured her a place in the Guinness Book of World Records.
