M Manikandan is a renowned cinematographer, screenwriter and director in Tamil cinema. He made his filmmaking debut with the National Award-winning film, 'Kaaka Muttai'. His further movies - 'Kuttrame Thandanai', 'Aandavan Kattalai' and 'Kadaisi Vivasayi' were also highly acclaimed.

In a shocking incident, a robbery has been reported in the director's house in his home town, Usilampatti. It has been revealed that cash and jewellery were stolen in this theft. The police officials registered a case and are investigating. Manikandan has been living in Chennai for the past few months. Only his driver and assistants visit the office now and then.

Yesterday, Manikandan's driver was shocked to see the house was open without their knowledge. The cops found out that the closet was robbed. This has caused a stir. Reports say that one lakh rupees and five pounds of gold were missing after the initial investigation. The police are in the process of hunting the thieves in regard with this case.
