Shruthi's nose surgery was not cosmetic

Shruthi Haasan has revealed that she went under the scalpel for a nose-job before she made her debut in films as an actress. However, the 7th Sense and Gabbar Singh heroine has clarified it was purely for medical reasons.

In an interview to a television channel, Shruthi said she went in for a corrective surgery in the United States because she was facing breathing problems. She was performed a septoplasty because of a common disorder involving a deviated septum.

The actress-singer-music composer added: Post-surgery, life has become a lot easier. I am able to sleep peacefully and sing without any difficulty. It is a minor procedure and I am greatly relieved.

The elder daughter of Kamal Haasan is eagerly expecting the release of 3 in Tamil, in which she has shared the screen space with National Award winning actor Dhanush, and Gabbar Singh in Telugu. She has been quoted as saying that she is excited about playing the performance-oriented role in Gabbar Singh .
