'Shruti is Hindu, Akshara has no religion'

Congratulating the Kerala government's circular that gives the applicants the liberty to not state their caste and religion in applications if they don't like to, Kamal Haasan has stated that he never filled the columns for his daughters.

"Bravo again Kerala Govt. Your circular is historic. I have refused filling caste and religion columns in my daughters' birth certificate. My daughters decided after they were 21. Shruti has chosen to be a Hindu. Akshara might stay without caste or religion," he tweeted.

Kamal's comments are sure to get the praise of rationalists, who believe that it's not proper to indoctrinate children in any religion.
