Sidharth Malhotra surprises Vikramaditya Motwane with 'Ek Villain'

Everyone thought of Sidharth Malhotra as a romantic hero as his debut film (Student Of The Year; 2012) and his second release (Hasee Toh Phasee) were both rom-coms. But the teaser of his latest film, ‘Ek Villain’, has changed that image as it sees him in a darker avatar. The teaser seems to have earned him a new admirer in the form of Vikramaditya Motwane. The filmmaker, who will direct the actor in his next movie, ‘Bhavesh Joshi’, was recently heard praising him for his versatility.

Even though Vikramaditya’s next will also feature the actor in a romantic role, he will be doing a lot of action too. The ‘Lootera’ famed director was always certain that Sidharth would pull off a challenging role, but he had never imagined him to be an action star. In this teaser, he was able to see what Sidharth is capable of and was quite pleasantly surprised.

The director even made it a point to compliment Sidharth on his new film. Very subtly, he told him that he liked his work and that he’s looking forward to working with him. Although the actor remained unavailable for comment, his spokesperson responded to us, saying, Vikram really appreciated whatever he saw of Sidharth’s work in the teaser. He’s confident that he will do justice to their film.

On the other hand, Sidharth will start work on Bhavesh Joshi once he returns from his 10-day break in New York, USA.
