While many top stars say films weren't what they aimed for, Silambarasan was someone who was always destined to be in the industry. Groomed by the multi-talented veteran T.Rajendar, Simbu started acting at 1(Uravai Kaatha Kili), and steadily Silambarasan picked the talents and traits of his father.

With his maiden appearance as a hero in Kadhal Azhivathillai(2002) it was not the perfect debut he wished for, but Simbu continued to act in energetic roles in movies like Dum, Kuthu and his first ticket to stardom arrived with Manmadhan, which turned out to be a blockbuster. Despite failing to score a success with his debut directorial Vallavan (2006), Simbu was back as a charmer with the stunning image makeover given by the classy, stylish maker Gautam Vasudev Menon in his celebrated romantic entertainer Vinnaithaandi Varuvaya (2010) as Simbu made the boy next door Karthik yearning for the love of the constantly confused Jessie believable, and expanded his fan base. With different roles in movies such as Vaanam and Poda podi where he got ample scope to prove his performing skills, his career was steadily growing.

However, there were various issues that plagued his later releases like Vaalu, Achcham Yenbathu Madamaiyada and Anbanavan Asarathavan Adangathavan leading to huge unprecedented delays in release ultimately affecting his image. Simbu and controversies go hand in hand, and Maanaadu was another perfect example of this. The delay in starting the project, alleged non co-operation for the shoot, removal and subsequent return to the project - Maanaadu's making has already had more drama in it than what the movie would actually have, but fans of the actor are banking on him to cross hurdles and come back strong, and his latest photos in a new look, shedding extra pounds indicates he's ready to satisfy his fans.

Despite numerous controversies and accusations, statements Simbu hasn't lost his fans and just like how he made an unexpected comeback of sorts with Chekka Chivantha Vaanam it has been expected that Maanaadu will yet again put him steady in the ladder to superstardom. Wish Simbu keeps entertaining fans and movie lovers with many more interesting characters and performances such as the ones we got to see in VTV's Karthik, Vaanam's cable Raja, Poda podi's Arjun, Thotti Jaya and Ethi, with his upcoming movies. Here's wishing Simbu - the multi talented star, a force that never fades, and the one who constantly resurrects from failures and criticisms, a very happy Birthday, and wishing him many more such exciting roles and blockbusters and unlimited entertainment for his ever loyal fans!
