Simbu after a long gap started shooting for his much-awaited movie 'Maanaadu' and when things were going smoothly for a change the COVID 19 pandemic brought the production to a halt in March end. The shooting is expected to restart after the lockdown while producer Suresh Kamachi in an exclusive interview to us shared that there is a possibility of a small movie before that with Venkat Prabhu and the rest of the cast and crew.

Even before 'Maanaadu' Simbu started shooting for a gangster flick produced by K.E. Gnanavelraja and costarring Gautham Karthik. The film a remake of the Kannada blockbuster hit 'Mufti' was directed by the original director Narthan and several scenes were canned in various locations Filming stopped suddenly due to alleged creative differences between the producer and hero and it was reported that the project was shelved.

Now authentic sources have informed us that the differences between Simbu and Gnanavelraja have been sorted out during the lockdown after they both discussed the issue over the phone. It is said that simultaneously with 'Maanaadu' the 'Mufti' remake too will go on floors once normalcy returns after the lockdown.
