Simbu aka STR has the enviably loyal fan base who cheer for him whether his films are a hit or a flop. The Madurai City STR Veriyargal fan club has put up a never before seen massive 500 feet poster in the temple city to celebrate the 35th year of their idol in Tamil cinema. The logic behind this is that Simbu first appeared as a one year old baby in father T.Rajendhar's 'Uravai Kaatha Kili' which was released on July 18th 1984.

Simbu is currently shooting for the Tamil remake of the Kannada super hit 'Mufti' in which he plays a don with Gautham Karthick as an undercover cop. The mass hero will soon start acting in the much anticipated 'Maanadu' directed by Venkat Prabhu with Kalyani Priyadarshan as the leading lady.
