Singers these days buy fake views and likes on their songs. - Daler Mehandi

Music business has changed a lot in last couple decades. While mainstream music itself has evolved a lot, there have also been substantial changes in the way singers and musicians are evaluated. Previously, it used to be about how many CDs or cassettes an artist sells but these days it is about the number of views and likes on YouTube, Spotify and other platforms.

Seasoned artist Daler Mehandi recently stated that lot of singers buy fake views and likes in order to appear more popular but he is proud that he never had to do any such thing. He said, "One of the biggest things that's changed since the 90s are the fake views of artists on their channels. Singers these days buy fake million views or followers just to get popular. However, my songs are genuine and are released by music companies like T-Series where you can't have fake views. People really love my songs. I am just glad my musical career has been so successful.”

Daler Mehandi recently came in headlines after singing the song Aila Re Aila for the upcoming film 'Sooryavanshi'. The song was an instant hit as it garnered around 30 million views in 24 hours.
