Sira Sri on Lakshmis NTR, RGVs working style & more

Lyricist Sira Sri is on a cloud nine after the success of 'Lakshmi's NTR'. In this interview, he talks about writing the lyrics for the movie, working with Ram Gopal Varma, the director's working style and more.

RGV wanted a classic kinda movie

It was RGV's decision to make the film like a classic. It's because of his respect for NTR garu and the era in which it has been set up.

My destiny has been tied with RGV

It's my privilege that I have continuously worked with RGV for the last 10 years. If he wants, he could have worked with any lyricist in the industry. But he has chosen me most of the time. I have written for other directors, too. Since I have consistently worked with RGV film after film, many have the misconception that I have penned most of my songs for him.

RGV bowled over by AD

RGV was highly impressed with Agasthya Manju's work. Although he worked just as the chief Assistant Director, he was given credits as a director.

Parents are Chandrababu's fans

My parents always like my lyrics. But, as far as this film is concerned, they haven't been able to enjoy the songs because they are fans of Chandrababu Naidu.

The NTR-Lakshmi Parvathi dance

I was shocked when RGV told me that NTR and Lakshmi Parvathi would dance together in their living room. I asked him how such a moment can be had in a serious film. The audiences are enjoying the moment like anything.

The most difficult song

'Daga' song took so many versions. I couldn't understand what exactly the director wanted. It's as if he wrote the song with his inputs!

Work & work

I keep working always. I never worry about the result. There are instances where I and RGV start talking about our next project right on the day our film is declared a flop. We get along well because RGV is not someone who makes his lyricists/music directors keep on write new versions of the same song. If he likes the first version, he okays it and never seeks another version.

Upcoming movies

I am writing lyrics for 'Mahasamudram', which is directed by Ajay Bhupathi of 'Rx 100' fame. I will be writing for the next two movies of RGV. Also for the second film of Raj Kandukuri's son.
