Fate has been cruel to Karu Palaniappan. He made a successful debut in Parthiban Kanavu. What more, it even won him three State Awards. However since then he has not had any single release and his long-pending Sathurangam is still lying in the cans.
But now Palaniappan should be thanking his stars. For he is all set to break his silence with Sivapathikaram starring Vishal.
Certain to hit the screens this Deepavali, the movie is an earthy and an action-packed entertainer and the director is introducing a Malayalam girl Mamta Mohandas for the first time in Tamil.
Vishal, fresh with the success in Thimiru, is all adrenaline-rush in a bid to continue to his purple patch.
Vishal is the hottest property in the industry after three runaway hits. He is being spoken of as the next Vijay. High expectations indeed.
The movie is set in Madurai backdrop and the characters will be real. We even shot the Azhagar Utsavam at Madurai for the film live with several cameras, says Palaniappan.
A major highlight of the movie would be its music. Vidyasagar and I share a good rapport. He always gives his best for me. In Sivapathikaram, he has given me four folk songs that would certainly top all audio charts, he adds.
On Vishal, he says, 'He is an actor with abundant energy. Gets into the skin of the character fast and keeps on improvising his role. A good prospect'.
Mamta Mohandas, who has got not just ravishing, looks but also quality to perform, he adds.
The combination of Vishal and Mamta is interesting. The two hit it off very well in the sets. Their chemistry was infectious and the whole set resembled one happy family.
After a long gap, Raghuvaran makes a re-entry through the movie. A dignified role that would certainly suit him.
Palaniappan said that he has dealt on a social issue in an engaging pace.
'In everyone's life it is the situation which turns out to be the villain. You do not need an external enemy but the happenings create an undercurrent of tension in the story. A story of a boy-next-door narrated in a gripping fashion,' he adds.
