15 Evergreen Bollywood hits that every south Indian is aware of!

You have to admit Bollywood numbers do have their appeal, from old classics to present day songs. However, with respect to Tamil listeners there are a few songs that have stood the test of time and earned our love. Be it a layman or a music connoisseur, one cannot disregard the familiarity of these Bollywood songs. This song is iconic. It has helped a lot of us to learn the first ten numbers in Hindi, thank you. The song is featured in the 1988 movie ‘Tezaab’ in which actors Anil Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit appear in the lead roles. Laxmikant Pyarelal composed the song for which Alka Yagnik rendered her voice.

Under the album Hawa Hawa (1987), Pakistani pop singer Hassan Jahangir’s song became a sort of sensation. No wonder people still keep listening to this song which brings a joyous nostalgia.

5. Tere Mere Beech Mein - Ek Duuje Ke Liye

This blockbuster hit film of 1981 starred Kamal Haasan and rati Agnihotri in the lead roles. Considered to be an evergreen romantic number, composer Laxmikant Pyarelal scored the music for which Lata Mangeshkar and SP Balasubramaniam rendered their voices.

6. Tujhe Dekha To Yeh Jaana Sanam

Lata Mangeshkar and Kumar Sanu’s rendition have left a lot of us awestruck. From the movie Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, the song is composed by Jatin Lalit and Lalit Pandit. This song is worth a million repeat hearings!

7. Rangeela Re

Under AR Rahman’s compositionand sung by Asha Bonsle and Adithya Narayanan, this song became a major hit. Rahman composed it for the film Rangeela which had Aamir Khan, Jackie Shroff and Urmila in the lead roles.

This song is often touted to be the song that made Kavitha Krishnamurthy’s career. Composed by Laxmikank Pyarelal, the song became an iconic hit with its funny lyrics and catchy music.

9. Didi Tera Devar Deewana - Hum Aapke Hain Koun

Hum Aapke Hain Koun hit the screens in 1994 starring Salman Khan and Madhuri Dixit in the lead roles. Lata Mangeshkar and SP Balasubramaniyam lent their voices for this mega hit song which was composed by Raam Laxman.

10. Tum Paas aaye - Kuch Kuch Hota Hai

This superhit romantic song was sung by Udit Narayanan and Alka Yagnik under the composition of Jatin Lalit. In addition to this, lines of lyricist Sameer Anjaan also were loved by listeners throughout the country with all music fans having hummed this song at least once.

The song is from Aamir Khan’s Quayamat se Quayamat Tak which also had Jhi Chwala as the lead actress.Composed by Anand Milind and lines written by lyricist Majrooh Sultanpoori, Udit Narayanan crooned the song which became a major hit and continues to still impress listeners.

From the movie Aradhana which came out in 1969, no one can say that they aren’t familiar with this sensational number. Composed by RD Burman, Anand Bakshi had written the lines for this song. 15.Roop Tera Mastana 

Roop Tera Mastana needs no introduction. This all time hit song was sung by Kishore Kumar from the film Aradhana. The song which features Rajesh Khanna and Sharmila Tagore became a sensational hit with lyricist Anand Bakshi and composer RD Burman working their magic.
