Outgoing Pranab Mukherjee has transformed the Rashtrapati Bhavan from a vestige of our colonial past to a representation of modern India`s potential.
The president started his initiatives in 2014 to make a “smart” Presidential estate.
The 330 acre Presidential estate has earned the name of `4H township` and now boasts of an e-rickshaw service; English courses; an AYUSH health and wellness centre; a new residential complex; improvements to efficient waste, energy and water management facilities; sewage treatment plants; and a slew of other infrastructure and recreational facilities.
The 4S` initiative has four components: Sanskar for pre-school children, Sparsh for differently-abled children, Sanskriti for children in the 7-14-year age bracket and Samaga for senior citizens.
The Presidential estate has earned the name of `4H township` - Humane, Hi-tech, Heritage and Happiness - much to the approval of the 6,000 odd people residing on the grounds.
