Smriti says Rahul has defamed all Indian men as rapists

After Rahul Gandhi recently said that 'Make in India' has been converted into 'Rape in India' in Narendra Modi's India, Union Minister Smriti Irani today lashed out at the Congress leader in her Lok Sabha speech. "This is the first time in history that a leader is giving a clarion call that Indian women should be raped. Is this Rahul Gandhi's message to the people of the country?" she asked.

Irani's allegations both inside and outside the Parliament have come in for flak. "Where did Rahul say that women should be raped? Her charge is that Rahul thinks that all Indian men are rapists. He never ever suggested that even remotely," a commentator opined.

After the row, Rahul tweeted out and demanded an apology from Modi, far from getting defensive. He also plugged a video clip in which Modi is heard describing Delhi as the rape capital. That was when UPA was ruling India.
