Blue Sattai Maran's review of 'Vivegam' is turning into a controversy. Many film industry people have condemned Maran's review. Filmmaker Arun Vaidhyanathan called it a "Bull Shit" review while Raghava Lawrence called for police action on Maran. Director Vijay Milton posted a video in which he condemned Maran's way of reviewing the film.

Meanwhile a section of Ajith fans have been posting abusive comments and status messages about Maran in Facebook and Twitter pages. Some of them have also allegedly gone to the extent of threatening to kill the popular reviewer for trolling 'Vivegam'.

Meanwhile the voice record of a phone conversation allegedly between an Ajith fan and Maran is adding fuel to the fire. In the phone call the person believed to be Maran uses a very abusive Tamil word against Ajith. This has enraged the fans severely and they are up in arms against Maran. But two things have to be kept in mind here. We cannot be sure whether the person speaking in Maran's voice is actually Maran or someone mimicking his voice. Why it is a private conversation between two individuals and Maran did not use such an abusive language. Nevertheless if it is Maran who has used such a bad word about Ajith. It is highly atrocious and one can also opt for a legal recourse against the same.

Writer Charu Nivedita who trashed 'Vivegam' in his review for a YouTube channel has also been allegedly incurring various forms of filthy abuses and threat phone calls. He has been writing detailed posts about the same in his social media and blogposts. He has also alleged that he has been receiving "death threats" from multiple phone numbers.

One has to be aware that a film is a mass media and everyone who pays money and spend their time to watch it have the right to have their own opinion and also share it with the public. Charu and Maran have have just reviewed the film. If one finds the review as wrong or offensive they can very well ignore their reviews. We can object to a review only if there is any form of attack on a person involved in a film.

Abusing someone for a movie review with filthy words and giving life threats to them is highly deplorable.. Maran has announced that he has just sought police protection from the DIG of Chennai. This shows the level of threats faced by him for his review. It seems the statement of Ajith before a few days of 'Vivegam' release has not made any impact on these idiotic morons functioning in the name of fans. They are actually incurring bad name to the star even after the star has distanced himself fro these "fans". He also voluntarily regretted and apologized for the harms and hurt caused by these trollers under his name. Now due to this behavior these fans are actually causing more embarrassment and regrets to Thala.

Vijay and Ajith have done a great thing recently by issuing statement against their fans abusing and trolling the people who criticise their films. This has definitely had an impact with a large section of fans. Vijay fans have started commenting against trolling Ajith and Ajith fans have started commenting against trolls on Vijay. But what has happened with 'Vivegam' proves that just statements are not enough. Both Ajith and Vijay would do well by engaging with their fans and giving stricter warnings to those using their names to troll and abuse others to achieve a long lasting solution for this menace.
