Sonu Sood honoured with rare UNDP award for his social service

Sonu Sood has got a new feather in the cap. The multi-lingual actor, who has done a number of big-ticket films in Hindi and Telugu, has been honoured with the United Nations Development Programme's (UNDP) prestigious SDG Special Humanitarian Action Award. This comes months after he helped thousands of migrant workers reach their native places during the March-April-May lockdown.

The 'Dookudu' actor arranged food, buses, trains and chartered flights for the stranded workers and became their hope in the toughest time.

It may be noted that the Award was in the past received by only one other Bollywood actor - Priyanka Chopra. Sonu is now in the company of her, Leonardo DiCaprio, Angelina Jolie, David Beckham, and others.

On the work front, he is at Hyderabad's Ramoji Film City, shooting for 'Alludu Adhurs'. Starring Bellamkonda Sai Srinivas as the hero, this Santosh Srinivas directorial has Nabha Natesh and Anu Emmanuel in glamorous roles. Prakash Raj and others are part of the cast.
