At the audio launch of the upcoming film 'Maaman', director Lokesh Kanagaraj shared heartfelt words about actor Soori. Known for his comedic roles, Soori has recently been making waves as a lead actor. After earning acclaim for his role in Vetrimaaran's 'Viduthalai', he has continued to enjoy success with hits like 'Kottukkaali' and 'Garudan'.
Directed by Prashanth Pandiraj, a former assistant to filmmaker Pandiraj, 'Maaman' is set for a theatrical release on May 16. The film, which revolves around the story of a maternal uncle, has already captured audience interest through its trailer, especially among family audiences.
Speaking at the event in Chennai, Lokesh said, "This film has all the elements of a commercial family entertainer, and its success is guaranteed. Recently, light-hearted films have been well received, and I believe this film will also be appreciated in the same way." He went on to praise Soori, saying, "True growth is when everyone feels happy watching someone's journey. Soori's growth is an inspiring one."
Lokesh also revealed that since starting his production house, many directors approach him with scripts written especially for Soori. "Out of ten scripts pitched to me, five are written with Soori in mind. That speaks volumes about his growth," he added.
With rising popularity and recognition, Soori is now seen as a significant figure in Tamil cinema, transitioning smoothly from comedy to lead roles with impactful performances.
