Suicide note of dead actress found in her apartment

28-year-old K-pop singer Goo Hara, who was a former member of the country's top K-pop group Kara, was found dead at her home in southern Seoul on Sunday.

Over six months ago, Hara was found in an unconscious state in her apartment, which the local media described as a suicide attempt. The incident happened less than two months after her friend and fellow K-pop singer Sulli committed suicide. Following her suicide attempt in May, Hara apologized to her fans, saying she had been "in agony over a number of issues." Hara split with her boyfriend, Choi Jong-bum, last year, which caused the latter to threaten to release intimate videos of the two of them. A CCTV footage released by media showed Hara kneeling in front of Choi, apparently begging him not to.

Police have reportedly now found a suicide note placed on the living room table. "A handwritten note that was pessimistic about her life was found on a living room table," Lee Yong-pyo, commissioner of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency said.

Goo Hara made her debut in 2008 as a member of the girl group Kara, which had become extremely popular in South Korea, Japan, and other Asian countries. She later worked as a solo artist and appeared on many TV shows, including City Hunter, Secret Love, It's Okay, That's Love, Footsteps, and Galileo 2. Her last post on Instagram was a picture of herself on her bed, captioned "Good night."
