Legendary singer S.P. Balasubrahmaniyam is admitted to the MGM Hospital in Chennai since August 5th when he tested for COVID 19 with mild symptoms. On the 13th of August night his condition deteriorated suddenly and was shifted to the ICU where he is on ventilator and ECMO support.

Mass prayers were initiated twice by SPB's close friend Bharathiraja and for the past few days his condition is said to have improved encouragingly and has been taken off sedation and physiotherapy is being done.

Another good news to fans has come from the hospital sources that SPB and his wife Savithri celebrated their wedding anniversary on Saturday in the ICU ward itself. It is said that a cake was brought into the ward and the couple cut it together.

Savithri Balasubrahmaniam was also affected by the coronavirus and is undergoing treatment at the same hospital. More good news is expected about the much loved veteran entertainer in the coming days.
