Supreme Court clears Sreesanth

Cricketer Sreesanth was all set to become India's pace spearhead when he was arrested by the Delhi police in 2013 for allegedly involved in spot-fixing scandal in the IPL that shook the sport. Along with his Rajasthan Royals teammates Ankit Chavan and Ajit Chandila, Sreesanth was handed a life ban by the BCCI from playing cricket.
In 2015 a Delhi court cleared all three players citing insufficient evidence that they were involved in spot-fixing. Sreesanth approached the Supreme Court praying that the ban be lifted and that no punishment should be given to him as the BCCI did not give a chance to him for explaining his side. The Supreme Court has lifted the ban and has directed the BCCI to consider a fresh punishment within the next three months.
Sreesanth reacting to the order has stated the Supreme Court has given him a lifeline and hopefully the BCCI will not take the full three months to give their new punishment. He has also expressed his intention of playing club cricket and especially the Scottish Premier League that begins in April this year.
