It is interesting as to what levels people go in the name of entertainment and comedy. Accepted comedy is all about exaggeration. But that doesn't mean one pass off absurdity as fun. Director Vijayendra Prasad tries this in Srikrishna 2006 and we get is over two hours of infantile impossibility. Granted there are some moments of mirth but they are mild and minimal. The story just fails to get going as the plot is so bizarre. Save for the acting from Srikanth and others, the movie would have been in deeper morass.

The story centers on Venkateshwarlu (Venu). He rolls in money and is on the lookout for a bride. He falls for the charm of Indu (Gowri Munjal). But there is a rider to his proposal to his marriage with her. His grandma weirdly insists that he has to have two wives she believes he will live longer only so. And even more weirdly, Indu agrees and Venky is about to marry another lass. Enters Raju (Srikanth). He claims Indu is his wife. You may think this is a twist. But it is all predictable and how the whole messy thing is sorted out is the story. It is fun in places. But otherwise, the movie plods like wheezing old jalopy.

Srikanth and Venu come out as honest triers. Srikanth is the impressive of the two. He is spontaneous. Venu is less natural in comedy sequences. Gowri Munjal has a good role, and she doesn't hash it up. Ramya Krishnan has nothing much to do. Brahmanadam and others try to evoke guffaw. But it is all puerile.

The plus of the movie is its good production values. There is nice and easy style to it. The music (of Sri Lekha) is also good. Ravindra Babu behind the camera is efficient.

Vijayendra Prasad, who was till now a writer, has made his debut as director. But he has not covered his bases. His intentions are good. But he lets the plot go haywire. So what we get is a disappointing goulash.
