Sri Reddy, known for her controversial presence on social media, appeared before the police on Saturday, April 19, at the Pusapatirega Police Station in the Vizianagaram district. This follows a case filed against her at the Nellimarla Police Station for allegedly posting obscene content targeting Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan, and Minister Nara Lokesh.
The complaint was initially lodged by a woman named Kinthada Kalavathi on November 13, 2024. It included evidence of Sri Reddy’s posts across platforms like X (formerly Twitter), Facebook, and Instagram. Based on this, the police registered a case under sections that carry punishments of up to seven years.
However, Sri Reddy approached the High Court claiming the charges were unjust. The High Court then directed the police to serve her with notices under Section 41A of the Criminal Procedure Code, which is used for offences where arrest is not mandatory but cooperation in the investigation is necessary.
Following the court’s direction, Sri Reddy appeared for questioning before CI Ramakrishna, who confronted her with the posts and interrogated her on her intentions and motivations behind them. After the questioning, she was issued a 41A notice and asked to remain available for future inquiries.
